| If
you are interested in running the course we suggest
that you:
1. Attend The Marriage Course
Either attend at a church near you or go through
The Marriage Course using the videos or DVDs with two
or three other couples in your home. This will
help familiarise yourselves with the type of material
taught on The Marriage Preparation Course and
will help make sure there are no unresolved issues
in your own marriage.

2. Attend The Marriage Conference or a training
day
This will cover:
- how to start The Marriage Preparation Course
- the design and content of the course
- all the practicalities of running a course
- using the FOCCUS questionnaire
- promoting the course
- a model session of the course which will give
you first hand experience of the material
3. Read The Marriage Preparation Course Leaders'
and Support Couples' Guide
If you are unable to attend a conference or
training day we suggest you read this guide. It
will help get you started and will explain what
you will need to run the course.
We also suggest you watch The Marriage Preparation
Course Videos or DVDs or read through the CD-Rom
transcripts to familiarise yourselves with the
course before you start.
